Jeremy Hope

Jeremy Hope was the author of a number of articles and books on performance management and associated leadership issues. His article on Beyond Budgeting with colleague Robin Fraser won the prestigious IFAC award for best management accounting article of 1998. He is co-author (with Robin Fraser) of an article entitled Who Needs Budgets in the Harvard Business Review, February 2003. He was a renowned author of management books, Beyond Budgeting (2003) (co-authored with Robin Fraser), Re-inventing the CFO (2006), Transforming the Bottom Line (1995) and Competing in the Third Wave (1997), both co-authored with his brother Tony Hope). His books have been translated into many languages and won coveted awards in the USA. He has given many keynote speeches at major conferences on performance management topics. He began his career as a chartered accountant and has since had experience in venture capital and business management. Since 1998 his work has been focused on "Beyond Budgeting" and he was research director of the Beyond Budgeting Round Table (BBRT), an organization dedicated to helping firms improve their performance management processes.
Jeremy Hope, 1948-2011
Jeremy sadly passed away in September 2011 after a relatively short period of severe illness.
Jeremy was an inspirational leader for the Beyond Budgeting Round Table and a dear friend, colleague and mentor to so many. He will be sadly missed. He has left a legacy through his role in articulating more effective ways to manage in the world where we all live. His work will live on through his writing, including his five books that have been published and his sixth that is being released in February 2012. His words and insightful thinking will continue to guide organizations for generations to come.
Peter Bunce

Dr. Peter Bunce is a Director of the BBRT. Prior to the BBRT Peter managed several research programs for the Consortium for Advanced Manufacturing International (CAM-I) relating to cost management, computer-aided process planning, geometric modelling and next generation manufacturing systems. In his role in CAM-I he was instrumental in helping CAM-I to co-found the BBRT with Jeremy Hope and Robin Fraser. He is also the convener for the module on Global Markets and Future Manufacturing for The Manufacturing Institute’s MSc course in Manufacturing Leadership, accredited by Lancaster University. The Manufacturing Institute is an independent charity located in Manchester, England dedicated to improving manufacturing. Peter holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering, PhD in Manufacturing Engineering and a Diploma in Management Studies. His particular interests and experiences are in management models for adaptive and innovative organizations, lean and agile thinking and future manufacturing systems that can respond to current and future global drivers. He is a Chartered Engineer and a member of the UK Institution of Engineering and Technology.
Steve Player

Steve Player serves as the North American Program Director for the Beyond Budgeting Round Table and is the CEO of The Player Group, a Dallas, Texas based consulting firm. Steve is a licensed CPA and has previously worked as Managing Partner of Arthur Andersen’s Advanced Cost Management Group, as well as, President of the Consortium for Advanced Manufacturing-International (CAM-I). He also founded and manages the Activity-Based Management Advanced Implementation Group (ABM-AIG) whose members include: Coca-Cola North America; Sprint; Harley-Davidson Motor Company and Discover Financial Services. Steve is the co-author/editor of four books on Activity-Based Management, including “Lessons from the ABM Battlefield”. He has been featured in publications such as The Harvard Business Review, Business Finance, the Sloan Management Review and the Dallas Morning News’ Business Section. Steve also regularly publishes case studies which document the successful implementation of the beyond budgeting principles by member organizations.
Franz Röösli

Franz Röösli is the Beyond Budgeting Round Table Director for the German-speaking countries (BBRT DACH). He is located in Basel, Switzerland, where he is professor for controlling and management processes at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW) He has experience of many years in controlling and management positions in different companies. He was financial controller with Swissair, head of controlling in a power supply company and at last a member of the management team in an IT company, where he was responsible for all the management processes. Franz holds a master in business administration and an executive master in business engineering.
Bjarte Bogsnes

Bjarte Bogsnes is the current BBRT Chairman. He is project manager of Statoil's Beyond Budgeting project. He was previously corporate controller in the international exploration and production sector.
He has spent half his career outside Norway, including several years in the European petrochemicals company Borealis as vice president for corporate control and later for human resources. At Borealis he also headed an initiative to manage the company without a budget. He graduated from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration in 1983, joining Statoil in the same year
