DATA

The data falls into three main categories:

1. Casual responses

2. Public workshop responses

Those individuals who have paid to attend a public conference or course (e.g. one organized by a software vendor, or an accounting body such as AICPA or CIMA), and who complete a ‘workshop’ report to bring with them to the event (where the results will be discussed) are in a different category. A high proportion of them complete it seriously from their individual perspectives. Their responses are compared anonymously in the workshop reports with an alternative model based on ‘Beyond Budgeting’ principles, and with the ranges of views of the other respondents. This helps the workshop to focus on the key issues. While such results are ‘indicative’ they are however just a delegate’s individual views, not a considered company view that takes into account a representative mix of views from different levels, functions and business areas.

3. Validated company responses
