BBRT INSIGHTS research series

The following paper has been circulated to BBRT members since the last Newsletter:

What you can learn about change from three ‘practitioners’

Abstract: Leading major change programs in large organizations is notoriously difficult. It took Jack Welch all his time as CEO at GE (around 20 years) to make an impression on its corporate culture. So what are the key lessons we need to learn? This paper focuses on three highly acclaimed thought leaders (John Kotter, Rosabeth Moss Kanter and Edgar Schein) who have witnessed change management efforts in hundreds of organizations over decades and written extensively on the subject.

The BBRT Performance Management Tools research series

The BBRT INSIGHTS research series finished with the above paper in April. However, we have now embarked on a new research series: BBRT Performance Management Tools.

The first paper was circulated to BBRT members in May and is entitled:

Introduction

Abstract: This paper is an introduction to the series. It introduces the series and explains how the tools examined have been selected. It provides short abstracts on each planned paper to give you an idea of the structure of the series and the scope of each paper. Finally it looks at generic success factors and draws some conclusions.

BBRT members can download the full papers from the BBRT Members' Community web site. Join the BBRT to obtain this and previous papers – contact Peter Bunce at peterbunce@bbrt.org, or Heather Bryce at heather@theplayergroup.com

Future Ready

Rolling forecast are often at the heart of the new "control" system in Beyond Budgeting implementations. Yet many managers have little knowledge about good forecasting practice and how to make it a truly effective management tool. Steve Morlidge and Steve Player have written a book "Future Ready - how to master business forecasting" that does just that.

Watch a video of Steve Morlidge discussing this new book (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tk_GNveXIIo)

‘Future Ready’ can be ordered from Amazon via our web site at: http://www.bbrt.org/resources/bbbook.html#book4.  It also has its own web site at: http://www.futurereadybook.com/

BBRT is an independent international shared learning network for all organizations that seek to improve their performance management through sharing information, past successes and implementation experiences.
