About the BBRT - Membership Benefits
'Beyond budgeting' is new!
There is little experience available on how to do it and few consultants available to help. BBRT membership is therefore especially valuable. It offers support and a shared learning network of active evaluators, implementers and users of the 'beyond budgeting' management model.
1. General Membership
We aim to attract as large a number of organizations and their people as possible to be involved in the network all over the world, irrespective of the level of their awareness or progress towards adopting the model. Joining the BBRT as a General Member is a requirement before members can join Special Interest Groups. Organizations that operate globally normally join globally (rather than just in one region). General membership fees are used to fund the BBRT’s global sustaining activities and, for a relatively low annual fee, offer members the following benefits:
- Shared learning network - Joining the BBRT shared learning network
- Proprietary material - Access to accumulated and new proprietary material (case studies, research reports, meeting notes etc.) for in-house (not commercial) use. CD-ROM containing a rich collection of all the material developed since the BBRT's inception in 1998.
- BBRT Meetings - Attendance by individuals at any BBRT general meetings worldwide. The BBRT meetings enable the network of members to meet to share experiences and learn from each other and from the research and presentations. The meeting agendas are focused on issues relating to evaluation, development and implementation of the 'beyond budgeting' model and provide a forum for shared learning.
- BBRT research - BBRT research and deliverables drive the agenda of BBRT meetings and help members address implementation issues. Members needs are closely reflected. The research is focused on issues relating to the evaluation and implementation of 'beyond budgeting' (e.g. the use of systems and tools, implementation process, devolution, updating The Guide). It uses cases as much as possible. In addition, the researchers work with high quality associates to gain expertise in their specialist field (e.g. CRM, VBM, ABM, the Balanced Scorecard) and use it to determine whether and how such tools should be used to support the 'beyond budgeting' model.
- New Research Series - Research series papers at 2-week intervals (Transforming Performance Management series and Finance Leadership series)
- Diagnostic - Free entry into the annual global diagnostic and survey
- Web-based Private Forum - Access to the BBRT web site private forum (e.g. Restricted circulation downloads)
2. Special Interest Groups (SIGs)
Special interest groups are being established to accommodate specific sector or industry requirements, such as financial services and the public sector. Additional SIG benefits include:
- Focus on specific areas of interest (e.g. industry reference models, performance management best practice, regional/cultural groups)
- Facilitator and research support with requisite expertise
- Global research input and coordination across BBRT regions
- Attendance at any SIG meetings worldwide on the same topic
- Specific deliverables in timeframes to meet member needs
- Research results only released generally with due recognition of SIG members interests
3. BBRT advisory services
BBRT membership provides exclusive access to the BBRT leaders (as facilitators) to run in-house workshops and provide advisory services for evaluators and implementers. The workshops and other strategic support activities are tailored to address the particular needs of each member company. Strategic support is subject to additional fee rates.
